The data set covers the geometries of the approximately 40,000 areas of the actual use of the real estate cadastre in the city area of Wuppertal. They are continuously updated by the competent cadastral authority (city of Wuppertal, department 102 surveying, cadastral office and spatial data) as part of the management of the real estate register in the specialist procedure “Official Property Register Information System (ALKIS)”. The areas of actual use form a complete division of the urban area, which is independent of the parcels. In order to determine the actual uses of a parcel, a cross-section of the parcels must be carried out with the areas of actual use. The ALKIS data model distinguishes 26 user species groups in the four utilisation areas of settlement, traffic, vegetation and waters in the object type area “actual use”, of which only 20 exist in Wuppertal (as of 03/2019). For this purpose, the data set contains the corresponding ALKIS object type in the attribute TYP, e.g. “AX_Wohnbauflaeche” for an area of the use category “living space”. In addition, the attribute FLAECHE is always occupied with the size of the respective area in square meters. On the other hand, some other attributes (FUNCTION, CONTROL, Storage Goods, ABBAUGUT, VEGETATION, HYDROLOGY, NAME) that provide a deeper breakdown of actual use are only used for certain types of use. According to state law, the data set is under the Open Data license “Data License Germany — Zero — Version 2.0 (dl-zero-de/2.0)”.
