Citizens’ budget 2019 — Project ideas

Following the good experience from the first citizen budget, the City of Wuppertal in 2019, in cooperation with external third parties, once again provided its own budget of EUR 165,000 for ideas from citizenship. In the so-called “citizens’ budget”, the Wuppertalers submit their own proposals and decide, in several evaluation phases themselves, which of these should be implemented. There are few requirements for the ideas: The implementation must not cost more than EUR 50.000 and must be possible within two years, the idea must be within the scope of manoeuvre of the city of Wuppertal and contribute something to the common good. The winning projects are planned into the budget and implemented in cooperation with the idea creators.
