The Common Standard File (GND) is a standard file for individuals, corporations, conferences, geographics, keywords and work titles, which is primarily used for cataloging literature in libraries, but is increasingly used by archives, museums, projects and web applications. It is managed jointly by the German National Library, all German-speaking library associations with the associated libraries, the journal database (ZDB) and numerous other institutions. The section “Work” includes collections, writing monuments, provenance features and titles of literary and musical works.
