Concept for data-based assessment of traffic stress on municipal road bridges — DakomStra

There are no classified traffic data for the municipal road networks. In practice, existing bridge structures in the municipal road network must be recalculated and evaluated on the basis of traffic data collected on federal highways. The aim of the DakomStra project was to determine the essential characteristics of municipal heavy-duty traffic and to assess the actual traffic load of bridge structures in the municipal road network. During the project period, traffic data classified in and around Münster were collected and analysed as well as the existing bridge stock was evaluated on the basis of reference structures with regard to road traffic. The datasets provided here (dakomstra_hour.txt and dakomstra_hour_wide.txt) contain the traffic data recorded and classified during the project.
