Dataset description
Age-specific mortality probabilities are determined based on the continuation of the population (or on a census) and the statistics of deaths. These are transferred to a (hypothetical) birth year of 100 000 newborns, whose survival can be modelled by the model of the death chart from age to year of age (death table population). For this purpose, the following death board parameters are calculated: QX age-specific death probabilities px age-specific survival probabilities lx survivors in age x (deathboard population, l0 = 100 000) dx deaths of the death board population in age x to x+ 1 Lx of survivors aged x to x+ 1 years lived ex lx from survivors at age x to age x total life expectancy at age x (e0 corresponds to life expectancy at birth death board: A death chart is a demographic model that enables the summary assessment of the mortality ratios of a population regardless of its size and age structure. The death chart shows in a gender-separated table how many people in an initial population will survive and die according to the calculated mortality probabilities in the individual age years. In addition, the death board provides information on the gender-specific average life expectancy in the individual age years.
