Development of the age structure of the foreign population in Düsseldorf 2035

Due to the rounding of the values, there may be differences between the sum of the age groups and the total number of inhabitants. The proportion of foreigners is projected to rise from 23.6 percent in 2019 to 26.3 percent in 2035. The change in the individual age cohorts differs from the overall development of the Düsseldorf population. In the foreign population, all age groups grow. The development of the 80-year-old and older is particularly noticeable. Between 2019 and 2035, this age cohort grows by over 80 percent. The growth of the 50- to under 65-year-olds (+ 43.4 %) and of those aged 65 to under 80 is also significant (+ 32.3 %). Among younger age groups, only the group of 6- to under 18-year-olds (+ 30.5 %) grows significantly. The growth of the other age groups is less pronounced.
