Fauna — valuable areas

This digital overview map presents valuable areas of Lower Saxony for fauna (without avifauna). This is based on area-related data from the animal species collection programme. The data available from these areas shall be assessed in a group of animals, insofar as they are not older than 10 years. If a certain threshold is reached under this standardised procedure, these areas are classified as areas of value for the fauna from a national point of view. All groups of animals except the birds, which are dealt separately in a different theme map, were taken into account.
