Geotopes are earth-historical formations of inanimate nature. They include excerpts of rocks, soils, minerals and fossils, as well as individual natural creations and natural parts of the landscape, and provide insights into the evolution of the earth and life. In this dataset, they are divided into the following two categories. Gotope: These geotopes are technically well defined and usually small-scale objects with a fundamental conservation value. This includes, among other things, valuable earth-historical findings, which should not be affected. Geotope Potential Areas: Geotope potential areas are referred to as large-area geotopes or geotope groups in which the conservation of general morphology is in the foreground. Further investigations with the delimitation of concrete objects (geotopes) are still pending.
