The groundwater recharge rates shown in the map are the result of modelling with different quality input data. The best data basis available throughout Bavaria was used in order to be able to make statements that are as uniform as possible throughout the country. Therefore, datasets from different measurement ranges were used jointly for modelling. Examples include, on the one hand, the highly generalised landscape map at a scale of 1: 1.000.000 and, on the other hand, the detailed digital terrain model in the 50 m grid. Work was also carried out on data, some of which may also show significant differences in quality at regional level (e.g. groundwater distance, regionalised station data of the different climate parameters). Therefore, the map sheet ‘Groundwater recharge Nass Period (1979-1981)’ represents a large area overview and allows a description of the regional conditions appropriate to the scale of 1: 500.000. The use of the grid specific values for detailed statements is not allowed in a methodical manner.
