A road is part of the municipal division. This hierarchical system divides the Cologne city area into a city structure and block structure at various levels. Other components include a road structure and addresses. The entire municipal division is explained in this publication. Definition: The city of Cologne assigns an official street name to all roads, paths and squares on the decision of the district representatives. A clear road key will be given to the Office for Urban Development and Statistics. The official road register provides the basis for all applicable road names and keys. Explanation of the attributes is attached to the shapefile as CSV. It is updated about half-years and before each election. All spatial data of the municipal division, election organisation units and other territorial divisions are included in the spatial reference system Geopackage.
