House numbers Koeln OSM

The service adds house numbers to the cleaned OpenStreetMap city map as its own layer. Buildings are encrypted and localised via addresses. The construction of the building addresses is based on a recommendation of the German City Day. Addresses are the only places by which anyone can easily orient themselves, which are officially assigned, which are affixed in the locality and proven in map works. By the population, the economy and the administration alone they are used to identify buildings. Addresses are used in almost all enforcement procedures and thus form the link between the data estimates of the administrative execution and the use in the statistical spatial reference system via the data warehouse.The key classification of the addresses is composed — the official road key, the house number and the house number addition.Each address has a point coordinate, each house number forms at least one address. For “collection house numbers” (e.g. Venloer Str. 227-231), each house number is recorded individually. Buildings that do not officially have a house number are listed under the number ‘0’. Addresses are always within a block page section.
