Description of all vehicle variants affected by unauthorised defeat devices within the meaning of Article 5(2) of Regulation (EC) No 715/2007, which have been examined by the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) and which have to be or had to be revised by means of ancillary provisions adopted pursuant to § 25(2) of the EC-FGV, or in which information has been sent to the competent authority.
Please note the following information:
• Vehicles where a defeat device assessed as inadmissible or critical by the KBA shall be listed. In principle, each vehicle has defeat devices which are justified in accordance with Article 5(2) of Regulation (EC) No 715/2007.
• Only vehicles that meet all the characteristics mentioned in the overview are affected.
• The indication ‘unauthorised defeat device’ indicates that the effectiveness of the emission control system has been unduly reduced after the KBA has been established.
• After the approval of the technical solution by the KBA, the recall for the manufacturer’s compliance can start. Depending on the number of vehicles affected, this may take some time.
• Overview 2 is not exhaustive and is regularly updated as vehicles are still in the KBA test.
The competence of the KBA extends exclusively to those manufacturers who received your type approvals from the KBA. The KBA shall carry out recalls in cooperation with other type-approval authorities on the basis of the third sentence of Article 32(2) of Directive 2007/46/EC.
