Inventory of motor vehicles and their trailers by registration district on 1 January of each year (FZ 1)

In addition to the new registrations on motor vehicles and trailers, the registration authorities in Germany also notify the Motor Transport Authority (KBA) of their decommissioning. These communications on motor vehicles and their trailers and their holders are stored in the Central Vehicle Register (ZFZR) and form the data basis for the stock of motor vehicles and their trailers according to selected characteristics. Here, among other things, the characteristics of registration area, cylinder capacity, car density, fuel types and emission groups and vehicle categories are evaluated. In the case of regional breakdown, the place of residence of the keeper or registered office, establishment or department shall be determined. The reporting date is 1 January of a year.
