The dataset contains polygons of the 54 voting districts in the Remscheid city area. A voting district is a local delimitation (organizational unit) for holding in political elections. The voting districts are to be distinguished according to the statutory provisions (Law on municipal elections/Landtag Election Act) in such a way as to facilitate participation in the election as much as possible for all persons entitled to vote. Each voting district is assigned a polling station to carry out the electoral process. Changes are made by the municipal election committee when changes in population distribution or legal requirements are required. The last time in Remscheid on 26 February 2020, adjustments were decided on the basis of a judgment of the Constitutional Court for the Land NRW of 20 December 2019 (VerfGH 35/19). The following factual information is stored about the polygon surfaces: Voting district number, voting district name, constituency number, constituency name, (shortened) text string to the voting district. The record is under an open data license: Data License Germany — Zero — Version 2.0 (https://www.govdata.de/dl-de/zero-2-0) available.
