Religious affiliations in Düsseldorf

The dataset contains population figures by religious communities in Düsseldorf from 1816 onwards. From 1988 on, the data on membership of a religious community are based on the corresponding shares from the register of residents. The figures for the Evangelical Free Church were recorded by the Evangelical Church until 1987, and from 1988 they are counted under “Others”. In 1987, the figure was 2343. The figures from 1816 to 1987 are based on the results of the censuses. Since November 2010, the Jewish religious community has been listed under “Others”.
