Dataset description
The API contains rescue points for emergency alarms in the forest. Calling help in case of an emergency is theoretically quite simple — dial 112 emergency call, describe what happened and pass through the location. But in the forest, where there are hardly any road names, this elementary information can be difficult or impossible to obtain. For helpers and rescuers a lot of valuable time can be lost in an emergency. Injured riders, walkers, athletes or forest workers sometimes have to endure longer until help comes. This is where the forest rescue point system “Your location in an emergency” is applied, which the Bonn fire brigade is implementing in close cooperation with the Wald-Sieg-Erft forest office of the Landesbetrieb Wald und Holz in the entire forest on Bonn’s urban area.
