RKP — Regional Culture Program NRW: Cultural Regions

With the Regional Culture Programme NRW (RKP) since the end of the 1990s, the state government has been helping the ten cultural regions of North Rhine-Westphalia to stand out and strengthen their attractiveness and identity both internally and externally. The aim is to initiate and intensify communication and cooperation between cultural professionals and those responsible for culture in regions and the country, as well as to provide new impetus for cultural work in the area. An application for funding can be submitted by municipalities as well as associations, companies or individuals who wish to enrich or further qualify with a project the art and cultural offer of their cultural region. As a rule, state funding can be applied for up to a maximum of 50 percent. Networking with other actors in the region is an important eligibility criterion. The advice provided by the regional coordination offices is also of great importance.
