The data set contains several shape files for displaying a perception heat map for green-related terms in the area of the Great Garden in Dresden. In order to demonstrate the suitability of social media data for urban and landscape planning, a new methodology was developed as a use case for the web portal myGrün in order to quickly map a rough overview of the spatial patterns of terms communicated in social media. The visualisation method is therefore particularly suitable for assessing perceived and online communicated qualities in an area. A combination of different terms can be used to analyse particular topic contexts. In the example Shapefile for the Great Garden, the combination of the terms “grass, nature, park” was used to assess the suitability gradient for perceived and nature-related qualities in the park. Thus, the map shows that the Botanical Garden is a major focus for qualities associated with this term canon. Also in the rear, rather openly designed western part of the Great Garden are important focal points, with punctual accumulations along Lake Carola and on the shores of the New Pond.
The data bases and calculation rules used are documented in the metadata description.
