The map shows the sum of installed CHP plants in Berlin for 2016, broken down by electric power class. The info window presents additional information on the development of the installed CHP plants in previous calendar years.
Cogeneration, in short: Cogeneration, is the simultaneous generation of electricity and heat in one process. This highly efficient type of energy production is not only possible in large heating plants with district heating networks. Small-format cogeneration plants are called combined heat and power plants (CHPs) and generate electricity and heat in the building in a very efficient way.
Currently, a more differentiated and site-specific representation of CHP plants is not possible. With the provision of the market master data register by the Federal Network Agency (expected December 2018), the master data of the plants and actors of the German electricity and gas market will be provided in the future. Against this background, the depth of detail of displayable data on the subject of cogeneration in the Energieatlas Berlin will be complemented and further developed in perspective. Legend
