Transport of European trucks (VE) — time series 2010-2020 (VE5)

The statistics “Transport of European Trucks (VE)” represent the transport of international road haulage across Germany and completes the transport of German trucks (LKfz). For this purpose, the KBA, as the national competent authority, receives aggregated and extrapolated annual data in accordance with Annex D to Commission Regulation (EC) No 6/2003 from the Eurostat data pool. The data transmitted are available at different regional levels (NUTS) in accordance with Regulation (EC) 1059/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council. For some countries covered by the Regulation, there are time gaps or early data reporting. The collection of data is usually carried out (as in Germany) as a sample survey. The evaluation is based on all journeys of European vehicles that travel German territory — including the foreign shares that belong to the respective journey. The domestic shares of cross-border journeys are determined via the distance station and separately reported for the distance travelled and the transport performance. Transit traffic is determined via the NUTS 3-based distance station. Please note the quality reports.
