Waters Detail structure mapping Lower Saxony and Bremen

Water structure is understood to mean the morphological nature of a water with its floodplain, its shores and its bed. In addition to the quality of the water, the water structure is an essential basis for the colonisation with a typical water flora and fauna. It provides suitable habitat for the growth, development and reproduction of all living organisms in and on the water.In total, 866 flowing waters with a water range of 10.209 km in 779 water bodies between 2010 and 2014 were mapped and evaluated in accordance with the method of detailed structure mapping in Lower Saxony (DSK) (NLÖ 2001), which was modified and adapted to current requirements.
