*Short description The monthly survey in wholesale trade is part of the cyclical statistical system of the European Union for monetary and economic policy purposes. The results of trade statistics are needed as decision-making aids for economic and structural policy purposes not only by the EU Commission, the Federal Government and the state governments, but also by the economy itself and its associations. The surveys are carried out as a full survey of all wholesale companies with at least 100 employees or at least EUR 20 million in annual turnover. The information provided by the other companies is taken from administrative data. The survey programme of monthly statistics in wholesale trade includes monthly turnover and the number of employees. Sales are shown in current prices and inflation-related. All features are calculated as measured values and rates of change. The monthly results are preliminary information that changes due to re-notifications or corrections of the reporting companies and revisions of the administrative data. *Quality report The quality report provides information on methods and definitions as well as the quality of the results of a statistics.
