E.L.E.K.P (Single Account for the Implementation of Social Policies [formerly LAEK])

The purposes of the Account are: 1. The promotion of vocational training for workers and the unemployed 2. Promoting the employment of the unemployed, especially the long-term unemployed, who are most at risk of social exclusion The resources of the Account in accordance with Article 1 of Law 2434/96 and subsequently Law 4144/13 come from: 1. The employer’s contribution of 0.45 % (then 0.24 %) of HELPEKE, which is payable by all employers, for insured persons who fall under even one insurance branch of OAED and is calculated on the gross earnings on which the IKA contributions are calculated. 2. The contribution of 0.36 % of the EWC, which is a joint contribution of employers and workers for unemployment schemes (0.26 % the employer, 0.10 % the employee), which overall was reduced to 0.22 %. Private enterprises and public sector bodies, as defined in Article 51(1) of Law 1892/1990 (Government Gazette, Series I, No 101), as in force, may take part in the programme. Staff who are entitled to train must be insured with the IKA and be subject to even one OAED Insurance Branch.
