The Management Plan is a strategic planning document for the Aegean Islands Water Department, which provides the necessary information and operational guidance for the integrated management of water resources and ecosystems and the country’s central reporting mechanism to the European Commission regarding water resources.
Its implementation lays the foundations for supporting a stable water management policy, leading to the effective protection and rational use of valuable water resources.
The Management Plan was drafted in implementation of Directive 2000/60/EC and all the legislative provisions adopted in the context of the harmonisation of national legislation with this Directive.
