Structural Adaptation of Workers and Enterprises in the Economic Crisis

The Integrated Structural Adjustment Plans of Enterprises included specific actions linked to predefined directions and planned changes in the organisation of each enterprise, with particular emphasis on areas such as: a) Optimising the use of resources improvement of environmental management C) Enhancing extroversion the development of models and practices of appropriate preparation of staff to protect businesses and endangered jobs and to secure jobs of specific groups of workers. Expenditure for the implementation of the programme was foreseen to be co-financed by the European Union (European Social Fund) and national resources (SAE of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security), under Thematic Axis 2, Priority Axis 4, 5 & 6: “Strengthening the Adaptability of Human Resources and Enterprises” of the Operational Programme “Human Resources Development” 2007-2013. The beneficiaries were the companies, which employed 50 employees or more and planned to implement changes and restructuring and adjustment measures, which would have serious reclassifications and impact on their business and working environment. In total, the beneficiaries amounted to 24,000 and the total budget was EUR 76 million.
