Dataset description

Observed Gross Inland Deliveries (GID) of five oil products in terajoules (TJ) of energy. Energy expressed in net calorific values (NCV) found using published conversion factors ([link](https://www.seai.ie/data-and-insights/seai-statistics/conversion-factors/)). Annex C of Commission Regulation (EU) 2022/132 on energy statistics ([link](http://data.europa.eu/eli/reg/2022/132/oj)) describes Observed Gross Inland Deliveries (GID) for: _“The observed delivery of finished petroleum products from primary sources (e.g. refineries, blending plants etc.) to the inland market.”_ The latter term “inland market” means Ireland (ex. Northern Ireland), in these energy statistics. __Oil products__ In general, the _Heating and Other Gasoil_ and _Non-jet Fuel Kerosene_ products are used for commercial and domestic heating (with some additional consumption by marine and rail transport). _Jet Fuel Kerosene_ products serve aviation, while _Motor Petrol_ and _Road Diesel_ products serve road transport.
