ISTAT has released, as information layers at national level, the administrative borders updated as of January 1, 2011. The administrative limits consist of three national hierarchical levels, regions, provinces and municipalities respectively. The data, released in the reference system ED 1950 UTM 32, include some differences from those previously published. First of all, the differences in administrative limits indicated by the municipalities when the territorial bases for the 2010-11 censuses were updated but accompanied by an official communication and appropriate documentation (verbal of agreement between the municipalities involved). The reports received by ISTAT after the update windows assigned to the municipalities have not been acquired and will be recorded during the post-census review phase of the territorial bases. In addition, the changes (territorial and name) between 01/01/2010 and 31/12/2010 and the administrative changes resulting from disputed areas between neighbouring municipalities resolved during the intercensus period were reported (the changes were acquired only when the official and complete documentation was sent to Istat).
