Agricultural and livestock holdings: number of holdings per total area class, legal form and management form

The dataset contains data on farms and livestock (Number of holdings, Total agricultural area in hectares -SAT-, Agricultural area used in hectares -SAU-) by legal form and form of management. The source of the data is the 6th General Census of Agriculture — 2010. Agricultural and livestock holding means the technical and economic unit, consisting of land, even in non-contiguous plots, and possibly of various plants and equipment, in which the agricultural and zootechnical activity is carried out, principally or secondaryly, by a holder — natural person, company, body — who bears the risk either alone, as a farmer or conductor with salaries and/or partners, or in associated form. for further information on the definitions and classifications used in the General Agricultural Census see: www.istat.it This dataset has been issued by the City of Milan.
