Analysis of the evolution of the shoreline from 1954/55 to 1976/78 using the digitised shore lines from the JHA Flight (Italian Air Group) of 1954/55 and the RER Flight (Region Emilia-Romagna) of 1976/78. The analysis was carried out using an extension of ArcView 3.2 called Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS) developed by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). This extension allows to define a baseline to the ground, generate transepts equidistant orthogonal to it and calculate the rates of variation. For each transept is then calculated the variation of the shore line (positive = advance; negative = erosion) the rate of progress-erosion (meters/year) and various statistical parameters.
