Geographical data on the Cards of Aptitude for truffle production. They are defined on the basis of the joint assessment of the pedo-ecological needs for the development of the individual truffle species, the chemical-physical and intrinsic characteristics of the soils prevailing for each unit of land (identified at the level of the Soil Taxonomy Subgroup) and on the basis of the average morphological and stationary characteristics, referring to the same units. The propensity of the land for production is defined for the three different species of truffle: White truffle (Tuber magnatum Pico), fine black truffle (Tuber melanosporum Vittad.) and summer black truffle or scorzone (Tuber aestivum Vittad.). The aptitude is attributed for each species according to three classes (high, medium, low).
