A WMS (Web Map Service) is a service that produces spatially related maps of data from geographical information, and is a technical specification defined by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC). This WMS presents the “Hydrography” layer of the Territorial Database of Reference of Bodies (BDTRE), structured according to the national technical specifications (DPCM 10 November 2011), collects the topics related to the description of water bodies, coast and marine waters.The contents of this service are divided into the following levels corresponding to the classes of the BDTRE:- Inland and transitional waters- Marine waters- Ice and perennial snow- Hydrographic network Maps can be viewed through various software (e.g. QGIS)
