A WMS (Web Map Service) is a service that produces spatially related maps of data from geographical information, and is a technical specification defined by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC). This WMS presents the “Orography” layer of the Territorial Database of Reference of the Entities (BDTRE), structured according to the national technical specifications (DPCM November 10, 2011), grouping the theme of altimetry with the description of level curves and listed points, the theme of batymetry with the description of the bathymetric curves and the batimetric points (bottoms), the theme of the natural forms of the soil, that is those auxiliary elements of reading the morphology of the territory and the theme of digital models of the soil. The contents of this service are divided into the following levels corresponding to the classes of the BDTRE:- Altimetry- Batimetry- Ground Forms — works for transport (works such as artifacts but of greater complexity);- works to defend the soil;- hydraulic defence works and hydraulic regimation. Maps can be viewed via various software (e.g. QGIS)
