The three-dimensional numerical representation of the soil surface allows both the complete altimetric characterisation of the territory and its detailed morphological description; the digital terrain model is used for territorial analyses in which the terrain’s altimetry, or its derived representation such as clivometry or the exposure of the slopes, constitute an essential cognitive element related to hydrogeological risk assessment, environmental impact studies, etc. In one with the Regional Technical Paper 1:5000 and the related Topographic Database, a DTM based on the Calabrian flight 2008 and the frame of photogrammetric return, from which, subsequently, are generated the level curves used for the cartographic representation of the elevation of the soil is produced. In particular, all the acquired altimetric information, of a punctual type (listed points) or linear (altimetric profiles), contributes to forming a TIN (Triangular Irregular Network) where all profiles are considered as breaklines obtained by means of aerophotogrammetry. From this data are derived the DTM in the form of GRID (regular grid), the level curves (for the final graphic product) and the lines of the slopes inserted on the cartography. The DTM is of the type level 2 or level 3 as required by the Technical Requirements for the production of Digital Models of the Land
