Calabria Region — Raster Geological Map 1:25000

The geological map is the basic information tool for all those who work in the fields of land protection, spatial planning, in the activities of prevention of hydrogeological disasters because it collects the cognitive aspects of the geology of the Calabrian territory reported with the rigour of scientific research. It is a useful tool for the general planning of the territory at regional, provincial, Park, Mountain Community, Remediation Consortia, etc., for which the degree of detail is more than sufficient, but also, as a basic reference, for planning on a municipal scale. The map, following the criterion of identification of the Topographical Chart of Italy series 25 V published by the Istituto Geografico Militare, consists of 182 elements on scale 1: 25,000, called tablets. The geological survey was carried out in the years 1958 to 1963 by the Compagnia Aero Ricerche, with the direction and testing of the Geological Service of Italy and printed in the years 1967 to 1971.
