The dataset ‘Battenti — Beach’ is a classification of the expected doors on the beach in the event of a storm. This figure has not been differentiated for the 3 event scenarios provided for under Legislative Decree 49/2010 — Floods Directive 2007/60, only the sea level of scenario P1, which corresponds to 2.5 m, has been used. This assumption stems from the fact that the beach is an extremely dynamic environment during the event so the value of the ‘batter’ can only be indicative. The figure therefore represents the maximum extent of beach flooding (which takes place for scenarios P2 and P1) and could be wider than scenario P3. On the beach it is suggested to consider this figure because it is more conservative than the hammers calculated for scenarios P2 and P3. Only 2 classes of swing are considered, i.e.: dimensions greater than or less than 100 cm. The cartography of the doors was produced using the model named n_CoastFlood (a tool for GIS), developed by the SGSS for the rapid elaboration of coastal hazard maps under the Flood Directive.
