Census of moscardinus (Muscardinus avellanarius)

Moscardinus dataset (Muscardinus avellanarius) developed within the Regional Monitoring Network (DGR 497/2007). The Network, in which regional and state protected areas participate, consists of a set of polygonal grids and linear transepts in which artificial nests (tubes or cassettes) are placed, which allow the presence of moscardin to be checked. The data refer to the years 2015-2019 and represent the minimum presence values in the target areas (they are not actual or apparent absent data). The data are collected according to a standard protocol which provides for four yearly checks of nest boxes and tubes at fixed times, adult counts and baby counts.
