Censuses 1991, 2001, 2011: Indicators on the presence and integration of foreigners

The dataset contains statistical indicators on the presence and integration of foreigners calculated on the basis of Census data 2011, 2001 and 1991. The indicators are calculated at three levels of detail: municipality of Milan; 9 municipalities; 69 NIL with a population of more than 3,000 inhabitants. For a limited number of indicators, the 1991 and 2001 figures are only disseminated at municipal level. The indicators are defined as follows: * 1) Foreigners per 100 residents (Percentage ratio between the foreign population and the total population); * 2) Ten-year percentage change of foreigners (Percentage ratio between the change in foreign population between two censuses and the foreign population at the previous census); * 3) Average age of foreigners (Average age weighted with the amount of foreign population in each age); * 4) Foreigners underage per 100 foreigners (Percentage ratio between the underage foreign population and the total foreign population); * 5) Young foreign students per 100 young foreigners (15-24 years old) (Percentage ratio between the foreign population of 15-24 years old and the total foreign population of 15-24 years); * 6) Foreign employment rate (Percentage ratio between employed foreigners aged 15 and over and the total number of foreigners in the same age group).
