The dataset contains statistical indicators on education and work calculated on the basis of Census data 2011, 2001 and 1991. The indicators are calculated at three levels of detail: municipality of Milan;9 municipalities;69 NIL with a population of over 3,000 inhabitants. The indicators are defined as follows:
* 1) Average unlicensed youth per 100 young people (Percentage ratio between the 15-19 year old population with a lower education qualification than the average license and the population of 15-19 years);
* 2) Media-licensed young people who leave the school system before graduation per 100 young people (Percentage ratio between the 15-24 year-old population with an average licence as the highest qualification and the population of 15-24 years);
* 3) Active youth for every 100 inactive young people (Percentage ratio between the active and non-active population aged 15-24);
* 4) Youth unemployment rate (Percentage ratio between young people seeking employment aged 15-24 and the working population of 15-24 years);
* 5) Activity rate (Percentage ratio between the working population aged 15 and over and the total population of 15 years and over);
* 6) Employment rate (Percentage ratio between the employed population aged 15 and over and the total population of 15 years and over);
* 7) Unemployment rate (Percentage ratio between the population seeking employment aged 15 and over and the working population of 15 years and over);
* 8) Graduates or graduates each adult with the average license only (Relation between the resident population aged 25-64 with a diploma or degree and the resident population of the same middle-licensed age class);
* 9) Young adults with university education for every 100 young adults (Percentage ratio between the 30-34 year old population holding university degree and the total population of 30-34 years old; objective of the Europe 2020 Strategy);
* 10) Young people who do not work and do not study every 100 young people (Percentage ratio between the population of 15-29 years old not student or employed and the total population of 15-29 years old). NOTE: active population means the sum of employed and jobseekers, inactive people who do not work and are not looking for work, such as students or housewives.
