Dataset description

The dataset contains statistical indicators on the characteristics of households and pairs calculated on the basis of Census data 2011, 2001 and 1991. The indicators are calculated at three levels of detail: municipality of Milan;9 municipalities;69 NIL with a population of over 3,000 inhabitants. For a limited number of indicators, 1991 data are not available and 2001 data are only disseminated at municipal level. The indicators are defined as follows: * 1) Average number of members per household (Relation between total household residents and number of households); * 2) Families of only one member per 100 households (Percentage ratio between the number of single-person households and total households); * 3) Families with 5 or more members per 100 households (Percentage ratio between the number of households with 5 or more members and total households); * 4) Young couples with children per 100 young couples (Percentage ratio between the number of young couples with children and the total number of young couples; both members of the couple under 35 years old); * 5) Young people living alone for every 100 young people (Percentage ratio between the number of single-person families, without cohabitants, consisting of a person aged 15-34 and the total population of 15-34 years); * 6) Population over 65 who lives alone every 100 over 65 years old (Percentage ratio between the number of single-person households, without cohabitants, consisting of a person aged 65+ and the population of 65+ years); * 7) Mixed pairs per 100 pairs (Percentage ratio between the number of couples with a foreign and one Italian component and the total number of couples); * 8) Unmarried couples per 100 couples (Percentage ratio between the number of unmarried couples and the total number of couples); * 9) Single parent households per 100 households with children (Percentage ratio between the number of households consisting of one parent and the total number of households with children).
