Dataset description

CESI — Centro Elettrotecnico Sperimentale Italiano has created a network of lightning sensors, called SIRF (Italian Lightning Detection System) of national level, for the real-time detection and spatial location of lightning discharges developed between clouds and soil. The detection system consists of 16 sensors located on the Italian territory, sensors located near the Italian border, in France, Switzerland, Austria and Spain are also used.
