Dataset description
This information layer delimits the surfaces covered by fire. Each fire is bounded by a single range. Only fires that have affected areas of more than 1000 square meters are reported. The burnt surfaces were detected: 1. along the perimeter of the fire, and the parts inside it, using GPS handheld instrument with a tolerance of 5-10 metres; 2) the geometries, thus acquired, were analysed, corrected and validated with ArcGIS 10.2 and QGIS 1.8.
