The Chemical State of water bodies within the meaning of Legislative Decree 152/2006 provides an assessment of the chemical quality of coastal marine waters considering the presence of priority substances (1,2 Dichloroethane, alachlor, Atrazine, Benzene, Chlorpiriphos, Clorfenvinfos, Dietylsilfthalate, Dichloromethane, Diuron, Fluorantene, Isoproturon, Naftalene, Nichel, Octylphenol, Pentachlorophenol, Lead, Simazine, Trichlorobenzene, Trichloromethane, Trifluralin), priority Dangerous (4-Nonylphenol, Chlorine Alkanes, Anthracene, Benzo(a)pyrene, Benzo(b+k)fluorantene, Benzo(ghi)perylene, Indeno(123-cd)pyrene, Cadmium, Endosulfan, Hexachlorobenzene, Hexachlorobutadiene, Hexachlorocyclohexane, Mercury and Pentachlorobenzene) and other substances (4-4' DDT, Total DDT, Aldrin, Dieldrin, Endrin, isodrin, Tetrachloroethylene, Carbon Tetrachloride and Trichloroethylene). The water body, which meets, for the substances on the priority list, all environmental quality standards (EQS-MA and EQS-CMA) at all monitored sites, is classified under “Good Chemical Status”. If not, it is classified as “Failure to achieve the Chemical State”.
