Dataset description
The Chemical State of water bodies within the meaning of Legislative Decree No 152/2006 (Annex 1 Tab. 1/A of Ministerial Decree 260/2010) is a descriptor which considers the presence in surface watercourses of priority substances (1.2 Dichloroethane, alachlor, Atrazin, Benzene, Chlorpiriphos, Clorfenvinfos, Dietylsylphthalate, Dichloromethane, Diuron, Fluorantene, Isoproturon, Naftalene, Nichel, Octylphenol, Pentachlorophenol, Lead, Simazine, trichlorobenzenes, Trichloromethane, Trifluralin), Priority Dangerous (4-Nonylphenol, Chloride Alkanes, Anthracene, Benzo(a)pyrene, Benzo(b+k)fluorantene, Benzo(ghi)perylene, Indeno(123-cd)pyrene, Cadmium, Endosulfan, Hexachlorobenzene, Hexachlorobutadiene, Hexachlorocyclohexane, Mercury and pentachlorobenzene) and the other substances (4-4' DDT, Total DDT, Aldrin, Dieldrin, Endrin, isodrin, Tetrachloroethylene, Carbon Tetrachloride and Trichloroethylene). The calculation procedure involves comparing the annual average concentrations of the sites monitored over the period 2010-2013 with environmental quality standards (EQS-MA). In addition, for some of these substances, the single measure is compared with a maximum permissible concentration (EQS-CMA). In addition, for some of these substances, the single measure is compared with a maximum permissible concentration (EQS-CMA). The lake, which meets, for substances on the priority list, all environmental quality standards (EQS-MA and SQA-CMA) at all monitored sites, is classified under “Good” Chemical State. If not, it is classified as ‘failure to achieve the chemical state’. In 2010 the first monitoring cycle (2010-2013) under Legislative Decree no. 152/06.
