Circulating vehicle park: consistency, registrations and radiation

The dataset presents the historical series from 2007 on the following dimensions: * consistency of the vehicle park; * number of radiations (cessions from circulation) * registrations (first registrations) of new vehicles, by vehicle type. The data are calculated on the basis of the findings on the legal status of the vehicles, extracting from the Public Automotive Register (P.R.A., institute in which all events related to the “legal life” of the vehicle are recorded) the vehicles whose owners are resident in the Municipality of Milan. According to the international statistical definition, the annual stock of vehicles is equal to the number of vehicles registered at 31/12. It is therefore reasonable and advantageous to calculate the vehicle park starting directly from the registration to the Public Register of Motor Vehicles, while stressing that there may be some deviation between the so-called theoretical circulating (registered to the P.R.A.) and the one actually circulating on the road.
