Dataset description
The surveys concern the study of the macrozoobentonic communities of mobile funds (sand and/or mud) that characterise the seabed and transitional environments of Veneto. The present populations are continuously exposed to factors that support their development (e.g. solar radiation, nutrients) and to factors that can cause their alteration (e.g. physico-chemical changes in water, presence of pollutants, dredging). The study of the composition and structure (through the calculation of indices) of the benthic communities of mobile funds is used to assess possible changes and to identify possible alterations in the area studied.
