Collective health care in the living and working environment

The Provincial Health Plan, in accordance with the provisions of national legislation, provides for the essential level of “collective health care in the living and working environment”. The objective of the level is to promote the health of the population as a whole by ensuring the following benefits: Prophylaxis of infectious and parasitic diseases; Protection of the community and individuals from the risks associated with living environments, including with regard to the health effects of environmental pollutants; Protection of the community and individuals against accidents and health risks associated with the workplace; Veterinary public health; Hygienic and health protection of food; Medical-legal activities. Individual prevention interventions are excluded from this level, except for vaccinations organised in programs that aim to increase the immune defenses of the population (such as those included in the National Vaccine Plan) and for cancer screenings, when organised in population programs.
