Dataset description

Il Corine Land Cover (CLC) è un progetto integrante del Programma CORINE. Obbiettivo del CLC è quello di fornire informazioni sulla copertura del suolo e sui cambiamenti nel tempo. Le informazioni sono comparabili ed omogenee per tutti i paesi aderenti al progetto (attualmente 31 paesi compresi anche alcuni del Nord Africa). La fotointerpretazione da immagini satellitari (Spot ed ERS) ha reso il costo del progetto sostenibile. Il sistema informativo geografico si compone di 44 classi di copertura del suolo suddivise in 3 tre livelli (5 classi per il primo livello, 15 per il secondo livello e 44 per il terzo). La prima realizzazione è stata condotta a partire dagli anni ’80 e ha portato alla realizzazione del CLC 90.
