Element of the road graph at the level of detail, corresponds in the GDF standard to the road element of the level 1 graph (element road). It is the synthesis of the VEICOLARE CIRCULATION AREA for the areas “roadway” and “structured traffic area” or “unstructured traffic area”. In the first case, the element represents the actual centreline of the roadway, in the second case it is virtual and represents the flow line in the structured traffic area, in the third case it is entirely fictitious and can indicate or not the possible connections on junctions attesting to the contour of unstructured traffic areas. As the ladder decreases, the vehicle traffic area tends to coincide with the overall road area (sidewalks and cycle paths are often not available on the ladder) and therefore the road element tends to represent the centreline of the road area. The road element has as its constraint that it is within the road area which summarises, if the road area collapses, the element must coincide with that degenerate area.
