Is introduced as an attribute to parts of the water path for both natural watercourses and artificial watercourses is modelled through the centreline; each section of this centreline may be contained in a wet area or in any case in a river bed and in that case it is defined as a physical centreline, or it may correspond to a runway which is not visible and in such a case the centreline, where there is no doubt as to the interpretation, corresponds to a line joining the end point and the continuation point and in that case the element of course of water is fictitious; finally, it can be contained in a body of water, in which case it is qualified as a virtual centreline.
