Dataset description
Area, delimited downstream by gorges or directly by the master embankment, which can occasionally receive the waters of the river itself during alluvial events. It is called “open gorge” if towards the river it is not protected by any embankment and in case of flooding of the watercourse is immediately flooded; it is called “closed gorge” if it is bounded both to the river and to the upstream by embankments; in this case it is flooded only when certain water levels are exceeded. An area of the Adda river, open towards the river and bounded towards the mountain by a morphological escarpment or in any case by the natural terrain, has been defined as a floodable gorge.Ref. normative: Law No 225/1992; PRIME MINISTERIAL DECREE OF 27/02/2004; LR 16/2004; DGR 8/4732 of 16/05/2007.
